About Me

My name is Kyle Lorenz.  I reside in Evanston, Illinois on the outskirts of Chicago and attained my BFA degree in Cinema Directing from Columbia College Hollywood in 2022.  I have written and directed several live action short films, each of them charting a different kind of dark adventure.  I carry an affinity for hyper-stylized, Noirish storytelling, having grown up mesmerized by films like Kiss Me Deadly, Out of the Past, Blade Runner, Inception, & Vertigo.

When I was 7 years old, my dad took me to see the first live action Transformers film.  Like many other kids my age, I fell in love with the immense depth and scale of that world.  Since then, it has been a passion of mine to create my own unique stories within the Transformers universe through Stop-Motion animation.  The medium of Stop-Motion is the perfect outlet for a big dreamer like me who can't marshal millions of dollars to make giant action films.
